One Killed, One Injured in Truck Accident on Interstate 75 in Marion County, FL

Marion County, FL — September 9, 2023, a person was killed, and one was injured in a van/commercial truck collision on Interstate 75 in Marion County, FL.

Authorities indicate that on September 9, a fatal crash occurred when a van and a commercial truck collided in Marion County for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened shortly before 4:45 in the afternoon.

Investigators say the two vehicles collided as the van attempted to merge into the right lane from the middle lane on Interstate 75. Police say the van and truck were traveling southbound when the accident happened. Both vehicles rolled and struck some trees before coming to rest on the shoulder.

Officials confirmed that the van driver, whose name was not released, was killed in the crash. The truck driver reportedly suffered severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital. No additional details have been released.

No other injuries were reported.
