One Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on I-10 in Chambers County, TX

Chambers County, TX — September 9, 2023, one person was killed following a semi-truck accident at around 1:20 p.m. along Interstate I-10.

Preliminary information about the crash was released by the Chambers County Sheriff's Office. Their statements say the incident took place in the area of eastbound I-10 mile marker 806 on the Trinity River bridge.

According to the authorities, the victim was in a passenger vehicle that had its hazard lights on and was traveling behind a front-end loader. It's unclear at this time how fast the pair of vehicles was going. Approaching those vehicles, details suggest that a semi-truck crashed into the back of both vehicles.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the passenger vehicle sustained fatal injuries. That person has not yet been identified publicly. There did not appear to be any other reported injuries. Currently, the factors leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
