Jose Lopez Mata Injured in Truck Accident on Highway 36 in Milano, TX

Milano, TX — August 7, 2023, Jose Lopez Mata was injured in a collision with a semi-truck around 6"50 p.m. on Highway 36 in Milano.

Investigators report the victim's Ford F-150 was northbound while a Western Star tractor-trailer was southbound on Hwy. 36. As the vehicles were reportedly passing the intersection with C.R. 342, the two collided in a front-off-set accident.

The impact purportedly forced the pickup truck into a clockwise spin off the road so it came to a stop facing east. The semi-truck reportedly came to rest partially on and off the highway with the nose of the truck facing south-southeast.

According to officials, Mr. Lopez Mata sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital by first responders.

Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
