One Killed, One Injured in Truck Accident on Highway 16 in Young County, TX

Young County, TX — September 1, 2023, one person was killed, and another was injured in a truck accident on Texas Highway 16 in Young County.

Investigators report a Ford Mustang was driving northwest while a Freightliner was heading southeast on Highway 1 (about 9 and a half miles south of Loving, TX) when the two vehicles somehow collided head-on.

The driver of the Ford Mustang was reportedly taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist with injuries, and the passenger of the Mustang was purportedly pronounced deceased at the crash scene. No other injuries were reported.

Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
