Teenager Injured in Car Accident on U.S. Highway 83 in Uvalde County, TX

Uvalde County, TX — July 14, 2023, a teenager was injured as the result of a car accident that happened before midnight along U.S. Highway 83.

Initial statements from authorities indicated that the crash took place at approximately 11:46 p.m. in the area of the U.S. 83 and County Road 350 intersection.

According to officials, a 17-year-old was driving a Chevy Silverado while two 18-year-olds were riding as passengers. The driver of the Silverado was reportedly going northbound along the highway at the time, allegedly racing another pickup. While doing so, the Silverado crashed into a Chevy Suburban making a left turn off northbound lanes. The other pickup left the scene.

As a result of the collision, one of the 18-year-old passengers sustained apparently incapacitating injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. At this time, details suggest alcohol may have been a factor, as well. Additional details remain unconfirmed right now.
