Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-run Accident on Paisano Trail in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — August 27, 2023, one person was seriously injured due to an apparent hit-and-run accident at around 12:24 a.m. along Paisano Trail.

Officials with the Austin Police Department have released preliminary details about the accident, which reportedly happened off the corner of Paisano Trail and Brodie Lane.

According to investigators, a man (not currently identified publicly) was walking two dogs at the time. As the man was walking along Paisano, authorities believe a vehicle struck the man. That vehicle then left the scene.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained critical injuries. The victim's condition at the time of writing is unclear. Authorities released surveillance video of a vehicle they believe may be the suspected runaway driver. They are encouraging anyone with potentially helpful information to contact police investigators as soon as possible.
