Francisco Gloria Briagas Killed in Work Accident in Denton, TX

Denton, TX — January 7, 2023, Francisco Gloria Briagas was killed following a work accident that happened around 10:38 a.m. off Fort Worth Drive.

Preliminary details about the accident were released by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration saying that the incident took place at 1804 Fort Worth Drive, just off Daniels Street. This appears to be the address for Texas Tires Denton, and "Hmo Texas Tires 39, Llc," is the listed employer in the OSHA statement.

According to officials, 18-year-old Francisco Gloria Briagas was working to mount a tire onto a rim. During this process, OSHA officials say there was a "violent decompression," sending the rim flying into both Gloria Briagas and another employee.

It appears that Gloria Briagas succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The other worker was hospitalized in unspecified condition. While exact details can't be confirmed right now, the OSHA summary lists three "serious" citations as well as a recommended penalty of $7,360. No further information can be released at this time.
