Margarita Almaraz Lopez Killed in Work Accident in Grand Prairie, TX

Grand Prairie, TX — May 25, 2023, Margarita Almaraz Lopez was killed following a work accident that happened in the area of East Trinity Boulevard.

Officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration published an investigation summary into the fatal accident. The report lists Goelzer Industries Inc. as the employer involved and lists the address of the work site as 201 East Trinity Boulevard, which appears to be the address for Goelzer Industries.

According to authorities, 46-year-old Margarita Almaraz Lopez was working at the location. In a series of events which was not made clear by authorities, it appears Lopez was "struck by [a] falling paper pallet." The cause of this incident was not included in the report.

Due to the incident, Lopez succumbed to fatal injuries. There were no other listed injuries in the summary. The OSHA summary does include two listed "serious" citations as well as a recommended penalty of $10,938. Further information is unavailable at this time.
