One Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 80 in Adair County, IA

Adair County, IA — September 4, 2023, one person was injured in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 80, west of the Dexter exit in Adair County, IA.

Authorities say that on September 4, an accident occurred when a tire struck a passenger car in Adair County. Police say the vehicle was traveling west along Interstate 80 when a loose tire suddenly crashed into it.

Investigators say an eastbound semi-truck lost two tires, one landing on the car, injuring one person. According to reports, the tire missed the vehicle passenger by a tiny margin. The man reportedly suffered injuries, but not life-threatening.

Police say the semi-truck driver was cited in the accident. No other injuries were reported.
