Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 43 in Rusk County, TX

Rusk County, TX — July 20, 2023, a man reportedly sustained incapacitating injuries due to a motorcycle accident at approximately 6:34 a.m. on Highway 43.

Authorities said in their preliminary statements that the incident took place along Highway 43 in the area of the Farm-to-Market 2658 intersection.

According to currently public information, the incident involved a 32-year-old man operating a Kawasaki motorcycle. The motorcycle was reportedly going eastbound on the highway and crossing over F.M. 2658. At the crossing, authorities allege that a westbound Ford Explorer failed to yield while turning left, and it collided with the motorcycle. This then sent the vehicles onto F.M. 2658 where they collided with a Ford F-250 pulling a trailer.

As a result of the series of collisions, the motorcyclist sustained injuries which were reportedly incapacitating. There did not appear to be any other confirmed injuries. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable, and it's unclear if any official charges were filed.
