Rockport Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Commercial Street in Aransas Pass, TX

Aransas Pass, TX — August 8, 2023, a Rockport man was injured as the result of a motorcycle accident at around 4:51 p.m. on commercial Street.

According to initial details released by authorities, the incident took place in the area of the North Commercial Street and East Maddox Avenue intersection.

Investigators said in their statements that a 37-year-old Rockport man was on a Yamaha motorcycle reportedly going northbound on Commercial Street. A vehicle ahead apparently hit the brakes, causing another vehicle ahead of the Rockport man to swerve to the right. The Rockport man also reportedly swerved to the right, and the motorcycle hopped the curb. This caused the bike to flip over and eject the rider.

As a result of the accident, the Rockport man sustained fatal injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else hurt due to the accident. At this time, specific factors contributing to the crash cannot be confirmed without further details.
