Jane String Killed, Donald String, 1 Injured in Truck Accident in Pilesgrove, NJ

Pilesgrove, NJ — August 31, 2023, Jane String was killed and Donald String and another were injured after a dump truck accident at 3:21 p.m. on Route 40.

Investigators said that the incident took place near mile marker 7 along westbound lanes of Route 40.

According to officials, 73-year-old Jane String and 72-year-old Donald String were in a westbound Pontiac Bonneville. While traveling on the highway, a Mack dump truck somehow crashed into the back of the Pontiac. This sent the Pontiac into the eastbound lanes where it crashed with a Nissan.

Due to the collisions, Jane String sustained injuries which ultimately proved fatal. Donald String was said to have serious injuries due to the crash. One person from the Nissan had injuries described as minor. There were no other confirmed injuries.

Right now, the exact cause of the crash remains unclear. Authorities have not confirmed any charges or citations resulting from the accident.
