Jerald Jones, Shundrekia Hill Killed, Child Injured in Truck Accident on I-30 in Hempstead County, AR

Hempstead County, AR — September 3, 2023, Jerald Jones and Shundrekia Hill were killed, and a minor was injured in a truck accident around 10:15 p.m. on I-30 in Hempstead County.

According to officials, the victims were all in a westbound Honda when their vehicle allegedly lost control, began to rotate, and struck the left side of a trailer pulled by a westbound Volvo semi-truck. The nose of the Honda was reportedly partially lodged under the Volvo's trailer when its passenger side was then stuck by a second westbound semi-truck.

Jerald Jones and Shundrekia Hill suffered fatal injuries. The minor passenger in the Honda was reportedly taken to CHRISTUS Saint Michael Hospital, however, the severity of the child's injuries was not released. No other injuries were reported.

Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
