Two Killed in Truck Accident on I-35 in San Marcos, TX

San Marcos, TX — September 1, 2023, two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident around 7 a.m. on Interstate 35 in San Marcos.

According to investigators, a GMC pickup truck was heading north on I-35, near exit 205, when it collided with a semi-truck. The initial crash reportedly forced the GMC to collide with a second vehicle, flip over the highway's center median, and strike a southbound minivan. Officials also say a second crash occurred in the northbound lanes during the chaos left by the initial crash.

Authorities report a GMC passenger was pronounced deceased at the accident scene, and the minivan driver perished at a hospital. No other injuries were reported. 

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash at this time.
