16-Year-Old Killed in Truck Accident on Highway 66 in Hunt County, TX

Hunt County, TX — August 13, 2023, a 16-year-old driver was killed in a collision with a commercial truck around 9:48 a.m. on Hwy. 66 in Hunt County.

According to officials, the victim's Toyota Corolla was heading west on Hwy. 66 and had just passed the intersection with F.M. 3211 when the car somehow veered off the road toward the passenger's side and then veered again toward the driver's side into the eastbound lanes. The front passenger corner of the Corolla's nose reportedly collided with an eastbound Peterbilt.

The 16-year-old suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
