Lavante Lang Injured in Alleged DWI Accident in Lubbock, TX

Lubbock, TX — September 3, 2023, Lavante Lang sustained injuries due to an alleged intoxicated driver accident at around 8:46 p.m. on University Avenue.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the collision occurred at the intersection of University Avenue and 111th Street.

According to officials, 30-year-old Lavante Lang was in a car going southbound along University. Due to events not entirely clear, another southbound vehicle crashed into Lang's car, forcing the vehicles off-road where they hit a pole.

Lang was taken from the scene with injuries described as serious. It's unclear if the other driver was hurt. That other driver was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the accident, police say. There appear to be pending charges for intoxication assault as investigations continue.
