Several Injured in Car Accidents in Hamtramck, MI

Hamtramck, MI — September 3, 2023, several people were injured in car accidents on Interstates 75 and 375 in Hamtramck, MI.

Authorities indicate that on September 3, multiple crashes occurred when a vehicle collided with several cars in Hamtramck. According to reports, the accidents started at approximately 7:30 in the evening.

Investigators say the vehicle traveled in the wrong direction along Interstate 375 and continued on Interstate 75. Police say the vehicle proceeded northbound in the southbound lanes, crashing into several cars along the way. Authorities have not determined the cause of the crashes. It is unclear how many vehicles were involved.

Investigators confirmed that the driver of the wrong-way vehicle, a 43-year-old female whose name has not been released, suffered severe injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The woman's condition is unknown at this time. Several others reportedly sustained injuries in the crashes. No further information is available.

The investigation is ongoing.
