Three Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident on University in Edinburg, TX

Edinburg, TX — September 3, 2023, three people were injured due to an alleged drunk driving accident early Sunday along University Drive.

Authorities said in their statements that the crash happened at around 4:14 a.m. at the intersection of University Drive and Jackson Road.

According to current statements, authorities attempted to pull over a black GMC in the area of Jackson and Freddy Gonzalez Drive. Police say that continued to University Drive and Jackson Road where it appears the GMC crashed with a vehicle after going through a red light.

Due to the collision, three women from the vehicle struck by the GMC were said to have "serious injuries." It's unclear if anyone else was hurt. Authorities apparently arrested the GMC driver under suspicion of driving drunk. This and other factors can't be confirmed right now.
