Thomas Arthur Jobe Killed in Multi-Truck Accident on I-40 in Lonoke, AR

Lonoke, AR — August 29, 2023, Thomas Arthur Jobe was killed in a multi-truck accident around 7:48 a.m. on I-40 in Lonoke.

According to sources, the victim's 2003 Kenworth was traveling westbound on I-40 when his truck collided with four other vehicles, including several semi-trucks and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. A report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety claims Mr. Jobe's semi-truck was unable to stop, and that the other vehicles his truck collided with had been previously stopped due to a prior accident involving a wrong-way driver.

After the various collisions with the other trucks, the logs being hauled by the 2003 Kenworth reportedly came loose and landed on the cab of Mr. Jobe's truck and struck a trailer of another semi-truck.

Thomas Arthur Jobe suffered fatal injuries in the accident.

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident or the logs breaking loose.
