1 Seriously Injured, Donald Turner, Deborah Barrington, Damian Ipina Possibly Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident on Durham Drive in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — August 4, 2023, a man sustained serious injuries as the result of an alleged drunk driver accident at around 6:15 p.m. on Durham Drive.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash took place at the intersection of Durham Drive and the North Loop 610 West service road.

According to officials, a 59-year-old man was in a Nissan Versa said to be going southbound along Durham Drive. Ahead of the Nissan was a Chevy Suburban reportedly driven by Donald Ray Turner and a Honda According reportedly driven by Damian Ipina.

At the service road intersection, the vehicles stopped due to a red light. While waiting for the light, authorities say that a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited slammed into the line of vehicles, causing a chain reaction of collisions.

The driver of the Nissan reportedly had incapacitating injuries as a result of the collision. Turner, his passenger Deborah Barrington, and Ipina all were said to have "possible" injuries.

Authorities in their most recent public information say the Jeep driver had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. DWI charges were recommended, but the current status of the investigations is unclear at this time.
