One Killed in 18-Wheeler Accident on Interstate 20 in Hinds County, MS

Hinds County, MS — September 1, 2023, a person was killed in an 18-wheeler collision on westbound Interstate 20 near Highway 22 in Hinds County, MS.

Authorities say that on September 1, a fatal crash occurred when an 18-wheeler and a vehicle collided in Hinds County for unknown reasons. According to reports, the collision happened shortly before 1:00 in the afternoon.

Investigators say an 18-wheeler was traveling west along Interstate 20 when it struck a parked vehicle in the shoulder. Sources say the impact caused the 18-wheeler to catch fire at the scene, killing one person. The victim's name has not been released, and no further information is available.

No other injuries were reported. Authorities are investigating the events that led to the crash.
