Hung Nguyen, Abner Santana, Three Others Killed, Three Injured in Car Accident in Gwinnett County, GA

Gwinnett County, GA — September 4, 2023, Hung Nguyen, Abner Santana, and three others were killed, and three were injured in a multi-car crash at Interstate 85 and Route 316 in Gwinnett County, GA.

Authorities indicate that on September 4, a fatal collision involving three cars occurred in Gwinnett County. According to reports, the crash happened sometime before 4:00 in the morning at Interstate 85 and Route 316.

Investigators say two vehicles were traveling on the flyover bridge along the interstate when they suddenly collided for unknown reasons. Police say the collision caused one of the vehicles to go off the edge onto the road beneath, where it was struck by another vehicle. Sources say the crash caused vehicle occupants to be thrown from the car.

Officials confirmed Hung Nguyen, 18, Abner Santana, 19, and three other teenagers suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Authorities say three others were injured and taken to an area hospital for medical attention. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

Investigators have not determined what caused the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
