Man Killed in Garbage Truck Accident in Texarkana, TX

Texarkana, TX — August 31, 2023, a man was killed in a garbage truck accident near New Boston Road and Summerhill Road in Texarkana, TX.

Authorities say that on August 31, a fatal accident occurred in Texarkana at approximately 5:45 in the morning. Police say a man who appeared to be homeless was struck by a garbage truck in an alley near New Boston Road and Summerhill Road.

Investigators say a driver operating a Western Waste Management truck attempted to empty a dumpster and failed to see the man sleeping nearby. Officials confirmed the man, who has not been identified, was struck and killed in the accident. No further information has been released at this time.

No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
