Man Injured in Truck Accident on Interstate 84 near La Grande, OR

La Grande, OR — August 31, 2023, a man was injured in a commercial truck accident on Interstate 84, just east of La Grande, OR.

Authorities indicate that on August 31, two vehicles collided near La Grande for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened shortly before 3:00 in the afternoon. Investigators say that a box truck struck the rear of a Freightliner truck in the Interstate 84 eastbound lane. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

Officials confirmed the box truck driver suffered injuries in the collision and was flown to an area hospital for medical attention. Sources say the driver sustained moderate injuries.

The Freightliner driver escaped the crash with no injuries. No other injuries were reported.
