One Killed in Single-Vehicle Truck Accident on I-85 in Gastonia, NC

Gastonia, NC — August 31, 2023, one person was killed in a single-vehicle truck accident around 2 p.m. on Interstate 85 in Gastonia.

According to authorities, the victim's semi-truck was heading north on I-85, near Chester Street, when it somehow veered off the road, rolled over, and caught fire. The driver of the truck was reportedly pronounced deceased at the accident site.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash at this time.
