Joan Louise Briggs Killed, Jacob Donato Roberts Injured in Dump Truck Accident on U.S. Rt. 50 in Prince George County, MD

Prince George County, MD — August 30, 2023, Joan Louise Briggs was killed, and Jacob Donato Roberts was injured in a dump truck accident around 11 p.m. on U.S. Route 50 in Prince George County.

Investigators report Mr. Roberts's Toyota Camry and a Peterbilt dump truck were traveling east on U.S. Rt. 50 when the Camry allegedly rear-ended the dump truck.

 Joan Louise Briggs, a passenger in the Camry, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. Jacob Donato Roberts was purportedly taken to a medical center with unreported injuries. The truck driver was reportedly uninjured

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
