Robert Dale Howland Killed in Truck Accident in Big Spring, TX

Howard County, TX — July 3, 2023, Robert Dale Howland was killed due to a truck accident that happened at around 3:44 p.m. along Gregg Street.

According to initial statements from authorities about the fatal crash, it happened at the intersection of South Gregg Street (U.S. Highway 87) and Whipkey Drive.

Investigators said that 52-year-old Robert Dale Howland was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound along the highway. Ahead of Howland, it appears that a semi-truck which was also going southbound attempted to make a u-turn. The truck turned left across southbound lanes, and the motorcycle crashed into the side of the truck.

Due to the collision, Howland suffered fatal injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. At this time, there are no reported charges or citations. It's unclear if any have since been filed.
