Jennifer Avelar Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident on Kermit Highway in Odessa, TX

Odessa, TX — August 28, 2023, Jennifer Avelar was injured in a two-vehicle crash around 10:40 p.m. on Kermit Highway in Odessa.

According to sources, Ms. Avelar was heading south on Golder Avenue in a black Nissan Altima, when her vehicle allegedly collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe that was traveling on Kermit Highway.

Officials have not released the severity of any injuries to either driver, but have reported that Ms. Avelar was transported to a hospital. There is information about the driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe even though both vehicles reportedly showed signs of "heavy" damage when first responders arrived at the crash scene.

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident, and it is possible officials may be withholding the other victim's names until the next of kin is notified.
