Bicyclist Injured in Alleged Hit-and-Run on E. 14th St. and N. Handcock Ave. in Odessa, TX

Odessa, TX — August 30, 2023, a 22-year-old bicyclist was injured in an alleged hit-and-run crash around 5:11 p.m. on E. 14th Street in Odessa.

According to authorities, the 22-year-old victim was struck while crossing an intersection by a westbound GMC Sierra. The driver of the Sierra purportedly fled the scene but later returned and was arrested.

The victim was reportedly transported to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police recommended sharing the 60-year-old perpetrator with a third-degree felony, Failure to Stop and Render Aid.

Officials may be withholding the victim's name until the next of kin is notified.
