Three Students, Three Adults Injured in School Bus/Transit Bus Accident in Nashville, TN

Nashville, TN — August 29, 2023, three students and three adults were injured in a school bus/transit bus crash on Elm Hill Pike between Interstate 40 and Patio Drive in Nashville, TN.

Authorities indicate that on August 29, a school bus and a transit bus collided in Nashville for unknown reasons. According to reports, the accident happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Elm Hill Pike. Investigators say two other vehicles were involved in the accident, but the details have not been released.

Officials confirmed the transit bus driver and a passenger sustained injuries in the crash. Sources say the transit bus driver was seriously injured but is stable. The passenger and one of the vehicle drivers reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries. All were taken to area hospitals.

Three high school students on the school bus were taken to a children's hospital. The extent of the students' injuries is unknown. No further information is available.

The investigation is ongoing.
