Man, Woman Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 290 in Washington County, TX
Washington County, TX — July 17, 2023, a man and a woman were injured following a truck accident at around 5:47 p.m. along U.S. Highway 290.
Initial details about the crash released by authorities indicate that the crash took place along eastbound lanes of the highway at the intersection of F.M. 1371.
According to preliminary statements, a 23-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were in a Toyota Prius said to be going eastbound along U.S. 290. At the intersection, it appears that a Dodge truck pulling a trailer may have failed to yield attempting to turn onto westbound lanes. Doing so, the truck entered the path of the Toyota, and the vehicles collided.
Both the man and the woman in the Toyota had reportedly incapacitating resulting from the collision, authorities said. There did not appear to be any other injuries. It appears there was a recommendation from the reporting officer for a citation for failure to yield. It's unclear if other charges or citations were filed since the accident. Investigations continue.
