East Columbia Man Injured in Car Accident on Highway 288 in Brazoria County, TX

Brazoria County, TX — June 25, 2023, an East Columbia man sustained injuries as the result of a single-vehicle accident at around 2:30 a.m. along Highway 288.

Officials said in preliminary public information that the crash took place in the area of the Highway 288 and Chlorine Road intersection.

According to initial details, a 45-year-old East Columbia man was in an Infiniti SUV said to be traveling along the northbound lanes of the highway. At Chlorine Road, for reasons not confirmed right now, the vehicle somehow went off-road onto the median. It crashed into a large metal pole, police say, causing it to overturn across northbound lanes of travel.

Due to the collision, the Infiniti driver reportedly sustained incapacitating injuries. It does not appear that any passengers were involved, and no other vehicles were mentioned, either. The factors surrounding the crash remain unclear a this time.
