One Killed, One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 5 in Willows, CA

Willows, CA — August 24, 2023, one was killed, and another was injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near County Road 39 in Glenn County, Willows, CA.

Authorities say that on August 24, a fatal accident occurred when three vehicles collided on Interstate 5 for unknown reasons. According to reports, the accident happened at approximately 2:18 in the afternoon. Investigators say a semi-truck rear-ended a stopped vehicle, causing it to crash into a Volvo that was also stopped along Interstate 5. Sources say the two cars were stopped in traffic when the crash occurred.

Officials confirmed the vehicle driver, a 57-year-old man whose name has not been released, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The semi-truck driver also reportedly sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized.

No other injuries were reported.
