One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 69 in Grant County, IN

Grant County, IN — August 30, 2023, a person was killed in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 69 near mile marker 257 in Grant County, IN.

Authorities indicate that on August 30, a fatal crash occurred when five vehicles collided in Grant County for unknown reasons. According to reports, a semi-truck crashed into the rear of a Ford pickup while traveling on Interstate 69. Police say three more vehicles, including a box truck, another semi-truck, and a passenger car, were involved in the accident, but how they were involved is unknown. Sources say the crash, which happened at approximately 1:45 in the afternoon, caused a fire at the scene.

Officials confirmed a pickup truck driver, whose name has not been released, suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police are continuing to investigate the events that led to the crash.
