One Killed in Multi-Truck Accident on I-69 in Grant County, IN

Grant County, IN — August 30, 2023, one person was killed as the result of a multi-truck accident at around 1:45 p.m. along Interstate 69.

Investigations from Indiana State Police officials indicated that the crash took place just outside of Gas City near Highway 26.

According to officials, the incident involved at least three commercial trucks and two passenger vehicles. Details suggest that traffic slowed down along the interstate prior to the incident. Approaching this traffic, a semi-truck somehow failed to slow down in time, resulting in a chain-reaction collision. One of the passenger vehicles caught fire following the collision.

Emergency responders came to the scene, and it appears one person from the flaming vehicle was pronounced deceased. There were no other confirmed injuries mentioned in the news. Right now, the cause of the crash is under investigation. No charges have been reported at this time.
