One Killed, One Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 74 in Oakwood, IL

Oakwood, IL — August 30, 2023, a person was killed, and one was injured in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 74 in Oakwood, IL.

Authorities indicate that on August 30, a fatal accident occurred when two semi-trucks collided on Interstate 74 in Oakwood. According to reports, the crash happened at approximately 7:49 in the morning.

Investigators say that a semi-truck traveling eastbound along Interstate 74 struck the rear of another semi-truck. One of the drivers reportedly suffered fatal injuries, and the other had minor injuries. Names and additional details have not been released at this time.

Police say another vehicle was involved in the crash, but no further information was given.

The investigation is ongoing.
