Several Injured in Truck/Bus Accident on U.S. Route 169 in Topeka, KS

Topeka, KS — August 17, 2023, several people were injured in a semi-truck/bus collision on U.S. Route 169 north of Iola in Topeka, KS.

Authorities indicate that on August 17, an accident occurred when a semi-truck and a bus collided on U.S. Route 169 in Topeka. According to reports, the crash happened around 1:00 in the morning.

Investigators say the bus was transporting women inmates from Iola when it ran a stop sign and collided with the semi-truck. Police say eight bus passengers were injured, but none of the injuries were life-threatening. The bus driver reportedly suffered severe injuries and was flown to an area hospital for medical attention.

No other injuries were reported.
