Timpson Man Injured in Car Accident on Highway 87 in Shelby County, TX

Shelby County, TX — July 21, 2023, a Timpson man sustained injuries as the result of a single-vehicle car accident at around 10:37 p.m. along Highway 87.

Authorities said in preliminary statements about the accident that it happened along eastbound lanes of the highway near F.M. 1615.

According to officials, a 33-year-old Timpson man was said to be the driver of a Dodge Ram 2500 that was traveling on Highway 87. While rounding a curve, it appears the vehicle somehow veered off the right side of the road. It careened some distance until it eventually crashed into a tree.

As a result of the collision, the Timpson man sustained injuries which were described as incapacitating. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the wreck. There is not enough public information available at this time to confirm the cause of the crash.
