Kathy Culwell Killed, Jesse Landers Injured in Car Accident in Early, TX

Early, TX — August 27, 2023, Kathy Culwell was killed, and Jesse Landers was injured in a car crash in the 1300 block of Early Boulevard in Early, TX.

Authorities say that on August 27, a fatal accident occurred when a vehicle heading west along Early Boulevard suddenly veered off the road and crashed. According to reports, the wreck happened shortly before 6:45 in the evening in Brown County.

Investigators say the vehicle was traveling westbound in the 1300 block of Early Boulevard when the crash occurred. Police have not determined the cause of the accident but say the vehicle hit a utility pole and a tree before coming to rest.

Officials confirmed the vehicle driver, Jesse Landers, 19, was hurt in the crash and taken to an area hospital. A vehicle passenger, Kathy Culwell, 53, reportedly suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were said to be involved in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
