One Killed in Truck Accident on Highway 287 in Wise County, TX

Wise County, TX — August 24, 2023, a person was killed in a truck collision on Highway 287 near County Road 2798 in Wise County, Alvord, TX.

Authorities say that on August 24, a fatal accident occurred when a pickup truck driver traveling north along Highway 287 suddenly lost control of the vehicle and crashed. According to reports, the crash happened shortly before 4:50 in the afternoon in Wise County.

Investigators say the pickup truck left the roadway and crashed into a tree near County Road 2798. Police have not determined the cause of the accident. Officials confirmed the pickup driver, whose name has not been released, was a 56-year-old man. The man reportedly suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.

No other injuries were reported. The accident remains under investigation.
