Elvin Martinez Gomez Killed in Alleged Intoxicated Driving Accident in Arlington, TX

UPDATE (August 29, 2023): Authorities identified the victim killed in the accident as 33-year-old Elvin Jose Martinez Gomez. Right now, further information about the accident is still under investigation.

Arlington, TX — August 27, 2023, a driver was killed as the result of an alleged intoxicated driving accident at around 5:00 a.m. along Highway 360.

Preliminary information about the fatal accident says that it happened along the 3600 block of southbound State Highway 360.

Initial details about the crash indicate that a 33-year-old was in a Toyota Yaris which appeared to have been stalled out along the outside lane of the highway. While there, authorities say that a Chevy Silverado crashed into the Toyota, then continued driving and left the scene.

The driver in the Toyota was thrown from the vehicle due to the collision, ultimately resulting in fatal injuries. Authorities say an off-duty officer followed the suspect driver until Mansfield Police officers located and arrested the driver.

Right now, details allege that the driver in custody is facing charges for intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid. Currently, additional details are unavailable pending investigations.
