Juvelyn Arroyo, Veronica Amezola, Kimberly Izquierdo Killed, Three Injured in Uber Accident in Los Angeles, CA

Los Angeles, CA — August 27, 2023, Juvelyn Arroyo, Veronica Amezola, and Kimberly Izquierdo were killed, and three were injured in an Uber crash at Vermont Avenue and Century Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA.

Authorities indicate that on August 27, a fatal crash occurred when, for unknown reasons, an Uber and a Mercedes collided in Los Angeles County. According to reports, the crash happened sometime before 5:30 in the morning at Vermont Avenue and Century Boulevard.

Police say the Mercedes was heading north along Vermont Avenue when it suddenly crashed into the Uber, which was stopped at a red light. Investigators say the Mercedes was allegedly driving at a very high rate of speed, possibly 80 to 85 miles per hour.

Officials confirmed the Uber passengers, 23-year-old Juvelyn Arroyo, Veronica Amezola, 23, and Kimberly Izquierdo, 27, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The Uber driver and another passenger reportedly sustained injuries and were taken to an area hospital. The Mercedes driver was also hurt in the accident and was hospitalized.

The investigation is ongoing.
