Authorities said in preliminary statements that 24-year-old Henry Guardado was on foot at the time walking southbound along Kiest. While doing so, it appears a southbound Chevy Equinox struck Guardado, then crashed along the side of the roadway. Police say the driver then fled the scene on foot.

Guardado sustained fatal injuries due to the collision. Police say they located the runaway driver with apparently non-incapacitating injuries. Right now, it's unclear if any charges or citations have been officially filed. Investigations continue.
