Mayda Alejandra Gonzalez Killed, Cristian Arturo Palacios in Car Accident in Harris County, TX

Harris County, TX — August 23, 2023, Mayda Alejandra Gonzalez was killed and Cristian Palacios was injured due to a car accident at 9:17 p.m. along F.M. 529.

Preliminary information about the fatal crash was released by Harris County officials. Their statements say the incident took place at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 529 (Freeman Road) and Porter Road.

According to current details, Mayda Alejandra Gonzalez was said to be in a Chevy Malibu going northbound along Porter. Another driver, identified as Cristian Arturo Palacios, was reportedly going westbound on F.M. 529 in a Toyota Tacoma. The two vehicles apparently collided at the crossing, causing Gonzalez to sustain injuries that ultimately proved to be fatal. Palacios reportedly had "minor" injuries.

At this time, the crash and the factors surrounding it are still under investigation.
