One Killed in Car Accident at I-20 and Cooper St. in Arlington, TX

Arlington, TX — August 22, 2023, one person was killed in a car accident around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Cooper St. in Arlington.

According to investigators, an SUV and another passenger vehicle were traveling eastbound on I-20 when the two cars somehow collided. The impact reportedly forced the SUV off the road where it then allegedly struck a light pole. Police suspect the SUV first stuck a guard rail and entered into a rollover accident before it came to a stop against the light pole.

The driver of the SUV was reportedly pronounced deceased at the accident scene. Officials may be withholding the victim's name until the next of kin is notified.

Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
