John Anthony Chavez, 2 Injured in Car Accident in Odessa, TX

Odessa, TX — July 28, 2023, John Chavez and two others were injured following a car accident at around 11:05 p.m. along Billy Hext Road.

Authorities said they were called out to the Ector County crash at the intersection of Billy Hext Road and Stonehenge Road, east of the University of Texas Permian Basin.

According to current information, 36-year-old John Chavez and a 37-year-old were in a Ford F-150 that was said to be going northbound along Billy Hext. An unidentified 18-year-old was reportedly in a Chevy Camaro going southbound. Authorities allege that the teen driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time, leading to the Camaro going left of center where it crashed into Chavez's F-150.

As a result of the collision, Chavez and the other two individuals involved in the crash all reportedly had incapacitating injuries. Right now, further information cannot be confirmed.
