Erick Alberto Juarez Cabrera Killed, 2 Injured in Car Accident near Donna, TX

Hidalgo County, TX — August 21, 2023, Erick Alberto Juarez Cabrera was killed and two were injured after a police chase accident at around 9:17 p.m. on East Business 83.

Authorities said that the incident happened at the intersection of East Business 83 and Victoria Road east of Donna.

It appears that Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department deputies were in pursuit of a Kia Optima that was going northbound along Victoria. At Business 83, police say that the Kia ran a red light, crashing into a Ford Ranger.

Due to the collision, the Ford driver, 27-year-old Erick Alberto Juarez Cabrera, sustained fatal injuries. A passenger in the Ford was said to have apparently non-life-threatening injuries. The Kia driver also had injuries due to the crash.

Right now, exact charges are unclear as investigations are ongoing. No further information is currently available.
