Maham Junaid Khan Killed, Shannon Christian, Michael Rains Injured in Car Accident on Sam Rayburn in Lewisville, TX
UPDATE (August 24, 2023): Further information in local media identifies the individuals involved in the fatal wreck. They say 21-year-old Maham Junaid Khan of McKinney was the woman killed in the accident. From the same vehicle as Khan, details say 18-year-old Shannon Winters Christian had apparently serious injuries. The driver that reportedly crashed into the disabled vehicle, 33-year-old Michael Andrew Rains, had non-incapacitating injuries. Right now, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Lewisville, TX — August 19, 2023, a woman was killed and two people were injured after a car accident at around 12:25 a.m. along the Sam Rayburn Tollway.
Authorities said that the fatal incident took place along main lanes of the tollway near Denton Tap Road.

According to current statements, a 21-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman were in a vehicle that was said to be going along the tollway. Due to events which aren't clear at this time, the vehicle lost control and crashed along the median barrier. This left the vehicle disabled.
Both women reportedly got out of the disabled car and were standing in the area when a second vehicle somehow crashed into the stationary vehicle. Both women were hit as a result. The 21-year-old woman succumbed to fatal injuries due to the collision while the teenager had apparently serious injuries. The unidentified driver of the second vehicle was said to have "non-serious injuries."
