Yordi Geovanny Sang, Kelly Cristina Garcia-Alban Killed, Dorien Helms Injured in Car Accident in Jefferson County, TX

Jefferson County, TX — August 22, 2023, Yordi Geovanny Sang and Kelly Cristina Garcia-Alban were killed, and Dorien Helms was injured in a car accident on Highway 73 in Jefferson County, TX.

Authorities indicate that on August 22, a fatal crash occurred between a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Mitsubishi in Jefferson County. According to reports, the collision happened around 6:00 in the evening.

Investigators say the Mitsubishi was traveling east on Highway 73 when it suddenly drove over the median into westbound traffic. The Mitsubishi reportedly entered the pickup truck's path, and the two vehicles collided.

Officials confirmed the Mitsubishi driver, 25-year-old Yordi Geovanny Sang, and passenger Kelly Cristina Garcia-Alban, 28, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The Chevrolet pickup driver, Dorien Helms, 20, reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
