Alfredo Cuellar, Arnoldo Torres, Leopoldo Arreola Killed, 3 Injured in Car Accident near Gardendale, TX

Gardendale, TX — August 20, 2023, Alfredo Cuellar, Arnoldo Torres, and Leopoldo Arreola were killed and three were injured in a car accident on F.M. 1788.

Details released by Texas DPS officials indicate the incident happened at around 3:15 a.m. near the Ector County and Andrews County line north of Gardendale, which is north of Odessa.

Current statements from the authorities identified 21-year-old Alfredo Cuellar and 21-year-old Arnoldo Torres as occupants in a Ford F-250 that was going northbound on F.M. 1788. 40-year-old Leopoldo Arreola was said to be in a separate F-250 that was going southbound. For reasons not confirmed at this time, the pickups apparently collided head-on.

Due to the collision, Cuellar, Torres, and Arreola all sustained fatal injuries. Another adult in the first pickup Cuellar and Torres were in as well as two children in the pickup Arreola was in were taken to area hospitals.
